Croxatto Oud

The CROXATTO OUD Batch 2026 preserves and deepens the Indian Style impression of the 2025 Batch, through the combination of the most exceptional Indian Assam Oud with a strong dose of Laotian Oud. It is the perfume with the highest concentration of superior-grade Oud that I know of. It is also impregnated with the rare and striking essence of Croton Eluteria, sourced from the Bahamas, of the highest quality, in an amount that likely exceeds tenfold the quantity found in any other perfume on the market. This is a fragrance unaligned with industry standards — it is independent.

The production of this formulation faces two significant obstacles: the high cost of its ingredients and the difficulty of obtaining them. According to standard market practice, given its production cost, this perfume should retail in a physical store for approximately twice its current price. However, by selling directly, I eliminate distribution and retail margins, allowing me to pass those savings entirely on to the final price.

Even so, the price is not exactly affordable. And given the nature of the perfume itself, I can tell you it is not aimed at the masses. In fact, if you are on the fence, or Oud has never particularly excited you, I recommend you do not buy it.

UNFILTERED

It is bottled unfiltered to preserve the aromatic richness of the Oud in its full natural complexity. This decision allows the perfume to continue evolving over time, developing unique nuances and an ever more complex character.

The presence of natural Oud introduces a distinctive characteristic: the possible appearance of particles over time. These particles are natural sediments from the Oud itself, which contains resins, dense oils, and organic compounds that, as they mature in the alcohol base of the perfume, may subtly precipitate. They may appear as fine clouds at the bottom of the bottle.

If the bottle has been left undisturbed for several days, it is worth gently swirling it before applying.

PRODUCTION LIMITS

The annual availability of Oud and Bahamian Croton — of the right quality and at a non-absurd price — is limited. The 2-month maturation and 6-month maceration periods required by the perfume add further complexity to production. For these reasons, and to maintain quality control, we have decided to produce it in non-mass runs.

The total number of bottles in Batch #1 is 750 units. We initially offered 550, intending to hold back 200 for direct sale. However, during the private reservation process, reservations exceeded 550, so we decided to release all units for reservation — there will be no direct sale.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH BATCH MY CROXATTO OUD IS FROM?

Each perfume's batch is laser-engraved on the bottle and printed on the box. The code includes the production year. Batch #1 carried the code "2025A". Batch #2 will carry the code "2-2026".

THE SCENT

You will radiate an extraordinary, 100% Western-style aroma. Luxurious, fresh, aged, and saturated with the rarest spices and tropical woods. Where Oud, as the protagonist, imparts its full "vintage leather jacket" character. It evokes the unmistakable calm of Vito Corleone in a leather overcoat on Fifth Avenue.

LONGEVITY, PROJECTION AND USE

An intensity that keeps radiating throughout the day. It makes itself known without overstaying its welcome.

The generous use of natural Oud, in particular, gives it an unbreakable character and nobility.

I recommend anywhere from 1 spray for a subtle impression, up to 7 sprays for a fully loaded result.

THE STORY

After 4 years in the perfume production business and 2 years studying this multifaceted material that is Oud, I decided to execute a personal composition representing the way I want to use Oud in a men's fragrance.

It has happened to me more than once: when I mention to someone in this industry the ingredients, quantities, and costs behind this formula, they seem to look at me with pity — who could be foolish enough to insist on wasting these ingredients like this, when you can use all kinds of synthetic emulators at a fraction of the price? Or add all manner of Oud boosters: ambrinols, civet, cypriol, etc. CROXATTO OUD contains no Oud boosters or emulators — what smells like Oud in this perfume is pure, solid Oud, with no reinforcements and no substitutes.

I had to insist on the madness of using exactly what I believed was best for this perfume, because — for me and many connoisseurs — there is a difference. When you know low-quality or synthetic Oud, you understand why it cannot come close to superior-grade. Even with little experience, you see the radical difference.
