Croxatto Oud

The CROXATTO OUD is composed with abundant amounts of an exceptional Oud from the Assam / Bangladesh region; it is the perfume with the highest concentration of superior grade Oud that I know of within those of Western style. In addition, it is infused with the rare and striking essence of Croton Eluteria, from the Bahamas, of the highest quality, in an amount that probably multiplies by ten that of the perfume that contains the most in the entire market. It is a perfume not aligned with industry standards, it is independent.

The production of this formulation faces two significant obstacles: the high cost of its ingredients and the difficulty of obtaining them. According to standard market practice, due to its production cost, this perfume should be sold in physical stores for approximately double its current price. However, by marketing it directly, I eliminate distribution and store margins, which allows me to transfer all that savings to the final price.

Even so, the price is not exactly affordable. And due to the characteristics of the perfume itself, I can tell you that it is also not aimed at the masses. Moreover, if you are in doubt, or Oud has never particularly enthused you, I recommend you not to purchase it.

UNFILTERED

It is bottled unfiltered to preserve the aromatic richness of the Oud in all its natural complexity. This decision allows the perfume to continue evolving over time, developing unique nuances and an increasingly complex character.

The presence of natural Oud introduces a distinctive feature: the possible appearance of particles over time. These particles are natural sediments from the Oud itself, which contains resins, dense oils, and organic compounds that, when maturing in the alcoholic base of the perfume, may subtly precipitate. They may appear as fine clouds at the bottom of the bottle.

If the bottle has remained still for several days, it is not a bad idea to move it gently before applying.

PRODUCTION LIMITS

The annual availability of Oud and Croton from the Bahamas, of the right quality and at a not insane price, is limited; in addition, the 2 months of maturation and 6 months of maceration required by the perfume add complexity to production. That is why, and to keep quality under control, we have decided to produce it in non-massive runs.

The total number of bottles in batch No. 1 is 750 units. Initially we offered 550 intending to keep 200 for direct sale. However, during the private reservation process, the 550 reservations were exceeded, so we decided to release all the units to be reserved; there will be no direct sale.

WHEN WILL BATCH NO. 2 BE RELEASED?

We do not know yet, but due to the search for the Oud, the selection of the bark, and the maturation and maceration times; we anticipate a long time, possibly 2026.

HOW TO KNOW WHICH BATCH MY CROXATTO OUD IS FROM?

The batch of each perfume is laser engraved on the base of the bottle and printed on the box. The code includes the year of production and a letter that indicates the lot number of that year: the first is "A", the second "B", and so on. For example, batch No. 1 will have the code "2025A".

THE SCENT

You will radiate an extraordinary Italian-style aroma. Luxurious, fresh, aged, and flooded with the rarest spices and tropical woods. Where Oud, as the protagonist, imparts all its “vintage leather jacket” character. It evokes the unmistakable calm of Vito Corleone in a leather trench coat on 5th Avenue.

OLFACTORY NOTES

DURATION, PROJECTION AND USAGE

An intensity that continues radiating all day. It makes itself noticed and does not linger more than necessary.

The generous use of natural Oud, in particular, gives it an unshakable character and nobility.

I recommend using from 1 spray for a discreet impression, up to 7 sprays for a fully loaded result.

THE BOTTLE

HISTORY

After 4 years in the perfume production business and 2 years of studying this multifaceted material, which is Oud, I decided to create a personal composition that represents the way I want to use Oud in a men’s perfume.

It has happened to me several times: when I tell someone in this industry about the ingredients, quantities, and costs of this formula, they seem to look at me with pity: who could be so stupid as to insist on wasting these ingredients like this, when all kinds of synthetic versions can be made at a fraction of the price. Or all kinds of boosters can be added to the Oud: ambrinoles, civet, cypriols, etc. The CROXATTO OUD carries no Oud boosters, what smells of Oud and leather in this perfume is only pure Oud, without boosters, without substitutes.

I had to insist on the madness of using exactly what I believed was the best for this perfume, because, for me and many connoisseurs, there really is a difference. When you know low-quality or synthetic Oud, you understand why it cannot come close to superior grade. Even if you have little experience, you see the radical difference.
