MOLB Bag Care and Maintenance

The MOLB's leather needs little, but it needs the right things.

When you receive the MOLB, the leather comes bare (if you prefer it to arrive conditioned, contact us before purchasing), with no protective layers or emollients. We recommend applying the following products before the sixth month of use. They will protect it from the environment and from water, and take the bag's appearance to the next level, deepening the tones and encouraging the development of the patina.

The products that are not suitable, and that may even damage it, are milky-looking emulsions made of water and oils, generally sold as "cream". These products are not for the MOLB.

1. CONDITIONING

100% pure jojoba oil: apply a thin layer with a small cotton cloth soaked in the oil until the entire bag is covered. The first time you do this, the leather will absorb the oil immediately, so to keep the layer thin, spread it with quick movements.

When you first apply it, the leather will darken several shades. Give it a few days, the oil settles, and the color comes back, now with deeper, richer toasted-cherry undertones. Over the years, it develops chocolate highlights.

100% pure jojoba oil.

2. SHINE AND PROTECTION

Use Saphir Médaille d'Or Pâte de Luxe, neutral.

If you have previously conditioned the leather, wait at least 2 hours before applying the wax.

Apply a thin layer with a cotton cloth. After 10 minutes, remove any wax residue with a soft, clean cotton cloth.

If you want our favorite finish for the MOLB's ultimate shine, finally apply a very thin layer of Saphir Médaille d'Or Mirror Gloss; ten minutes later, remove the residue with a soft, clean cotton cloth.

WATER STAINS

The MOLB's leather should not get wet, but if it does, dry it as soon as possible with absorbent paper or cloth; do not apply heat. Water can create stains characterized by a lighter tone than the rest of the bag and a matte surface. These stains are reversible through glass burnishing followed by the application of Saphir Médaille d'Or wax in Mahogany. If you need help with water stains, contact us at aftersales@croxatto.com

WHERE TO GET THE PRODUCTS

These products are available in specialized leather care stores worldwide. If you can't find them in your country, write to us at aftersales@croxatto.com and we will guide you on how to get them or suggest an alternative.

If something goes wrong

Deep stains or marks: do not attempt to repair them yourself. Any product applied without knowledge of the leather can worsen the damage and limit what can be recovered later.

For any intervention beyond routine care, contact our after-sales service: the bag is assessed in the same Ubrique workshop where it was made. The terms of the service are on the warranty and restoration page.
